Pricing is largely not handled manually. TripMade holds a database of transfers, experiences and more — roughly 80% of the elements are already there. When the designer selects a transfer or an experience, both the cost and the selling rate come with it.
The platform gives the designer dedicated areas: hotels, transfers, tours, trains, tickets, and miscellaneous. Miscellaneous covers all non-coded services — an assistance, a service we have no contract for or have never priced before.
(How to handle an experience that is not in the archive — the more complex case — to be covered separately.)
Rules to follow in TripMade
Notes field: special information (e.g. VIP client, guide also present at the airport that day) goes in the notes field, visible to the supplier.
Changed departure or pick-up ("Location changed"): if you change the departure city or the pick-up/drop-off of a service already entered, the price may be different and the description may be wrong. TripMade flags the service as "Location changed": update price and description immediately.
Restaurants: VIT guarantees restaurant reservations only for trips of at least €5,000. This must be made clear to the agent already at proposal stage.
Suppliers: use the contracted suppliers in TripMade. A new supplier, even for a miscellaneous service, must always be authorised by management before being used.
