Operations Manager

The deadline: Voucher Delivery Date (VDD)

The VDD is the north star of the Operations Manager's work. Finishing the bookings is pointless if we don't send the vouchers: the work is only complete when the vouchers have been delivered.

Every trip has a deadline by which the vouchers must be ready and delivered: the Voucher Delivery Date (VDD).

How is a VDD defined? It depends on two factors:

  • The complexity of the trip — the number of services and suppliers to coordinate.
  • How close the traveller's arrival is.

Rules of thumb:

  • Arrival in about 15 days → about 2–3 days to organise it.
  • Arrival in about 9 months → no need to start straight away; the Operations Manager organises their work independently, respecting the delivery date. Note: the consistency check must still be done immediately, as soon as the trip file is assigned.
  • In any case, everything must be organised within one month of the client's arrival.
